Sunday 17th December at 7.30pm
At Christmas we hold a Carol Service in the Town Hall. The evening starts with refreshments on offer as people come in – mulled wine, mince pies and other seasonal treats, with more opportunity to sample these at the end! Then we have a variety of traditional and newer carols accompanied by instruments, mainly sung by the congregation but with a couple of items from the choir.
Between the carols there are the traditional readings of the Christmas story from the Bible and an explanation of what each carol is about and what it tells us about the birth of Jesus and why he came.
This is a very popular event in the community and the hall is always full.
